About

Alex Scott is an assistant professor of multimedia storytelling at the University of Iowa. 

He recently received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, researching issues of visual representation and visual knowledge in narrative and non-fiction photography. He has held editing positions at Bloomberg News, ABC News, the New York Post and the Columbia Missourian. He has been a faculty member and instructor of record at the University of Texas, International Center of Photography and Austin Community College. He was a Magnum Foundation fellow in 2015 while he completed his Master's Degree from the University of Missouri. He attended the Eddie Adams Workshop XXIX, MPW 68 and 4th annual New York Portfolio review in 2016. Photographs have been published in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Buzzfeed News, Bloomberg News, ABC News, The Denver Post, Columbia Missourian, Cycle Source Magazine, Dallas Observer and others.
